HEALING MINISTRIES
The Bible in both the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) record many stories of healing.
Elijah is recorded in the book of Kings as healing, feeding and raising people.
Joseph is recorded in the book "Genesis" as healing people and nations by providing food in time of severe drought.
Jesus in his ministry also healed, fed and raised people to new life. he welcomed those who felt themselves to be outcast, and helped the blind to see, the lame to walk and all to hear the Good news of God's Kingdom being present here on earth.
In the church the healing ministry continues:
- The laying on of hands, annointing with oil and praying for healing
- Confession and the forgiveness of sins which release us from feeling burdoned and imprisoned
- Pastroal Counselling heps us to understand our journey in the context of God's call to us
- Some members have particular gifts in TReiki, music and art which all can assist in the healing journey
- The sacrament of communion at home or in hospital
- Prayer Chain - please see section on Pastoral Care
The healing ministry of annointing with oil and laying on of hands is available at any service.
